The White Sands Pupfish best the Roswell Invaders in shootout 9-8


Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as the White Sands Pupfish (21-22) outscored the Roswell Invaders (31-12) 9-8.

The two teams combined for 22 hits in the game.

The White Sands Pupfish came out swinging, scoring five runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Roswell Invaders early.

JJ Costantino got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Ernesto Zaragaza got his first win for the White Sands Pupfish despite allowing six runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked four and surrendered five hits.

Johnathon Sa couldnt get it done on the hill for the Roswell Invaders, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out four.

The White Sands Pupfish were sparked by Miguel Flores and Chris DeBiasi, who teamed up for eight hits and five RBIs.
