The Trinidad Triggers top the Santa Fe Fuego behind Veynas 3 hits 15-14

6/25/2013-

Monday was a great day for Jason Veyna, as he hit two home runs to carry the Trinidad Triggers (24-14) to a 15-14 victory over the Santa Fe Fuego (17-21) at Fort Marcy Park.

Veyna racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He homered in the third and sixth innings and singled in the eighth inning.

The two teams combined for 29 runs and 32 hits, including zero extra base hits. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were 11 pitchers used in the game.

The Santa Fe Fuego couldnt get anything going so long as Scott Elitzky was on the hill. Elitzky held the Santa Fe Fuego hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Kevin Camacho was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked five, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
