6/13/2011-Alex Castillos headed to San Angelo Colts of North American League. Alex pitched three times for White Sands and he has promoted to a higher level league. "Alex had offers from 5 teams" said Pecos League Commisioner Andrew Dunn. 3 of the teams were in the American Association, 1 team in Frontier League and the San Angelo Colts. San Angelo has a stable staff and a history of taking players from the Pecos League (Gorman Romero, Eddie Brown) and a quality coaching staff in Doc Edwards/Bobby Brown. Brown managed Las Cruces in 2010 and is constantly looking for upgrades to the San Angelo team, Doc Edwards has a legency as a manager 2nd to none in independent baseball and will provide a great opportunity for Alex to progess back into affliated ball. The Pecos League is now fielding calls on a daily basis from higher budget independent teams.
