6/2/2013-The White Sands Pupfish are entering their third year of play in the Pecos League and many players, coaches and fans clearly see that the Pupfish have one of the best playing surfaces in the Pecos League. The City of Alamogordo has converted Griggs Park #8 into a great surface and a place opposing teams want to play. The City of Alamogordo has installed a clubhouse, warning track and misting stations for the spectators. The extreme heat of the White Sands Desert is neutralized by the league's best bar with the most selections of liquor, beer and margaritas. Every day of the week they have a beer special of some sort.

Raton Manager Ray Hancock says "Alamogordo has the best setup of any city I have been to."

Netting went up behind home plate to improve visibilty for spectators. The Pupfish feature the league's best scoreboard and the only Stalker Radar Gun for every pitch. The site of the ballpark directly in the foothills of the Sacramento Mountains has always been beautiful backdrop. The outfield and infield are among the smoothest in the entire league with best hops. The mound is favorite of Pupfish pitchers and visiting pitchers.
