12/16/2012-The Pecos League has announced that is has chosen Las Vegas New Mexico as one of its expansion cities for the 2013 season. The Las Vegas City Council voted 4-0 to allow City Manager Tim Dodge have final negotiations with the process. The Las Vegas Train Robbers will play at Rodriguez Park.

Andrew Dunn of the Pecos League attended the City Council Meeting to answer questions that might arise. The Pecos League received several questions about the coordination of umpiring and if the league had problems with alcohol in the past.

The City Invited the Following Las Vegas Baseball Representives to speak at the meeting.
  • New Mexico Highlands Athletic Director Ed Manzanares
  • Luna Community College Coach Antonio Siqueiros
  • Robertson Baseball Coach Kenneth Sandoval
  • Las Vegas Little League representive Mike Quintana
All were is support of the team and believed having a Professional Team in Las Vegas would be nothing but positive.

Mayor Alfonso Ortiz gave credit to Lavinia Fenzi (executive director of Las Vegas Chamber) for recruiting the Pecos League and Andrew Dunn to come to Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Train Robbers begin the 2013 season in Roswell before hosting Trinidad for their home opener.
