Pecos League moves to Amarillo Texas for 2017 Season
Amarillo, Tx –The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs is proud to announce its newest team in Amarillo, Texas.
The team will be named the Amarillo Lone Stars. The team will begin play at Potter County Memorial Stadium next year.
The teams colors will be Red, White and Blue. The Teams website can be viewed at http://www.AmarilloLoneStars.com
The Amarillo Lone Stars will play in the Northern Division in the 2017 season with the Salina Stockade, Garden City Wind and Trinidad Triggers.
Pecos League Commissioner and Owner Andrew Dunn “We are excited to play the 2017 season in Amarillo,
I believe it will fit perfectly with the other cities in the league. The people in Amarillo are excited to keep baseball alive.”
Former Tucson Saguaros Manager JD Droddy “I think it is a great destination for travel purposes of the league, it is the most centrally located city in the league. We played Spring Training games several times there and I believe it will be a good addition to the league.”
The Amarillo Lone Stars will finalize their coaching staff soon. The Lone Stars will also be hiring game day staff and sales staff.
The Pecos League is an independent professional baseball league which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout New Mexico, Kansas, Arizona, West Texas and Southern Colorado. Pecos Teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either.
