Aldrich leads the Alpine Cowboys to 23-5 win over the Las Cruces Vaqueros

An exceptional effort by Daniel Aldrich led the Alpine Cowboys (32-21) to a 23-5 win in seven innings over the Las Cruces Vaqueros (15-38) on Monday at Apodoca Park.

Aldrich racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Alpine Cowboys. He doubled in the first inning, tripled in the third inning, singled in the sixth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.

The Alpine Cowboys didnt let up, as they kept racking up runs until the end. The Alpine Cowboys scored three runs in the last one innings to finish off the blowout win. The Alpine Cowboys scored seven runs in the second on the Alpine Cowboys scored in the second on an RBI double by Riley Smith, a two-run double by Colby Gee, a fielders choice, an RBI single by Robert Zaragoza, and a two-run error.

Alex Diaz paced the Las Cruces Vaqueros at the plate. Diaz went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.

Kevin Klaess got the win, running his season record to 7-2. He allowed three runs over six innings. Klaess struck out three, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Kellen Quintana was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out none.

The Alpine Cowboys hammered the Las Cruces Vaqueros pitching as eight hitters had a field day, combining for 24 hits, 19 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
