The Garden City Wind offense too much for the Las Vegas Train Robbers in 14-5 rout


The Garden City Wind (2-7) shut the door early on the Las Vegas Train Robbers (1-6), capturing a 14-5 victory on Friday at Clint Lightner.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Garden City Wind to put the game away early. A three-run single by Brandon Cooksey, a three-run single by Cooksey, an RBI single by Ariel Adut, an RBI double by Craig Jaquez, an RBI single by Dylin Brooks, and an RBI single by Brooks in the first inning fueled the Garden City Winds offense early.

Cooksey racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Garden City Wind.

RJ Rayborn racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Las Vegas Train Robbers. He singled in the first innings and homered in the fifth inning.

Jaquez got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered five hits.

Takaki Sato (0-1) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
