10/26/2011-The Pecos League is crossing the Colorado State Line for the 2nd time, this time to stay. The Trinidad Triggers and Pecos League signed a lease for the Triggers to be the 5th team in the Pecos League. Unlike all of the cities in New Mexico there is no huge political game to sell alcohol and play baseball, this was accomplished with a simple meeting with city officials as the beer laws are much more relaxed in the state. The team will wear black sleeveless jerseys with black hats. The Triggers may play 2-4 home games in Raton depending on demand and availablilty.

The Triggers have launched their website TrinidadTriggers.com and head coach Justin Lowery has signed more veteran players than any team in the league. Rosters are always subject to change but Lowery is hitting the ground running. "I like the support here and once we arrive with our full team it will only get better." But currently the Triggers roster features Championship Series MVP Brian Ramirez, who lead Las Cruces in hitting in 2010 season and had the key home run in the Championship Game in 2011. Andrew Riddick lead White Sands in Home Runs and was one of Alpine's best players, he is going to Trinidad to pitch and hit. Evan Ellison is one of the Pecos League's top Left Handed Pitching Prospects. Daniel Pembroke is one of the leagues most popular players and looks to do extreme offensive damage in high altitude. Assistant Coach JD Droddy is excited to get the team ready for Spring Training. Here are some fast facts about the Triggers

The Pecos League began to explore Colorado in hopes of playing Pueblo. The Pecos League actually played a series in Pueblo in the 2011 season and plans to have a team in Pueblo West for the 2013 season. 2013 could be quite a rivalry between Trinidad and Pueblo West. The Triggers will wait until November 9, 2011 city council meeting to determine who their 2012 Northern Rival will be, if city council votes alcohol in at Fort Marcy Park, it will be the Santa Fe Mountain Lions, if not it is anyones guess.
