4/2/2023-Effectively immediately for the 2023 season the Pecos League will have a Zero Dollar transfer fee of players to MLB Clubs. At any time in the season a players is offered to sign with MLB they can do so without an MLB Club having to pay a buyout.



Buyouts have become a huge deterrent for MLB Clubs signing independent players. Many players have been advised to avoid independent leagues and train on their own. This gives players the ability to play independent baseball and not be held back by a buyout clause. Our goal is not to stand in the way of players going to MLB affiliated clubs.
