3/27/2023-Opening Day is just around the corner, and while teams are finalizing their rosters and promotions, the Pecos League's first pitch is set. James Tansen, a fan of the Bakersfield Train Robbers, will throw out the first pitch for the 2023 season. James attended the final regular season game on August 1, 2022 in which Wasco defeated the Train Robbers 12-8.


During the game, tragedy struck as James was stung by a bee and went into anaphylactic shock. James's daughter was sitting with him and immediately found a help from nurse Kristin Meadows who was attending the game in the stands a few rows away. Kristin located an EpiPen from Kimberly Olsen who was also in attendence as a fan. Later the ER doctor informed James that if he would not have gotten the EpiPen immediately he could have died. The Bakersfield Train Robbers look forward to having James Tansen throw out the first pitch of the Pecos League Season on May 22 against the Lancaster Sound Breakers at Sam Lynn Park in Bakersfield.
