1/1/2023-The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs is proud to announce its newest team in Blackwell, Oklahoma. The team will be named the Blackwell FlyCatchers. The team will begin play at Historic Morgan Field beginning in June of 2023. Blackwell will host Oklahomas only Independent Baseball Team since the closure of the Sooner State League in 1959.

The FlyCatchers will don brown uniforms and brown hats with tan and white as team colors. The Team will play in the Mountain Division in the 2023 season with the following teams:

The Pacific Division of Pecos League consists of eight teams in California. The winners of each league meet for a best of three championship series after their division playoffs.

Pecos League Commissioner and Owner Andrew Dunn "We are excited to play the 2023 season in Blackwell, the historic ballpark will plug right into our league. We have a long history of players in our league from Oklahoma now we will have a team there. This will help with travel to and from Garden City."

Pecos League Adjudicator JD Droddy "I think it is great addition and it will be very helpful to the Northern Division. I think Oklahoma is a baseball state and Northern Oklahoma will be great for the Pecos League. It will help with logisitics of balancing the Northern Division."

The Blackwell Flycatchers will finalize their coaching staff and game day operation staff soon.
