Keisy Portorreal was the losing pitcher throwing 3 innings with 2 strikeouts while allowing 10 hits. Roswell Invaders 13 Garden City Wind 8 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Garden City Wind 13-8 to take game one of the Pecos League Playoffs on Wednesday Night in Western Kansas. The Invaders pounded out 20 hits lead by Matt Rodriguez and Jonathan Bigley who both went 3-5 with 3 RBIS. Offensively for the Invaders it was a balanced attack including DeMarcus Kelly who went 3-6 in the nine hole for the Invaders with two runs scored.

Colton Adams went 3-6 in the leadoff spot with 4 runs scored. Pitcher Marcus Bracey went 2-3 in the seven hole. Jonathan Bigley and Colton Adams had huge home runs to open up the lead for the Invaders.

Keisy Portorreal did not get out of the 4th inning allowing 10 hits and 7 earned runs. Sage Holderfield got up three runs in an inning and third. Marty Carnahan gave up three runs in three innings out of the Bullpen the for the Wind.

For the Invaders again it was Marcus Bracey coming up big. He went six innings striking out seven while limiting the Wind to four runs. Carlos Pena pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing four runs and left with the bases loaded and two out. Kenny Stewart got a huge unassisted ground out to third base to end the Winds Rally. Stewart would stay in and pitch two more scoreless innings to preserve the Invaders win.

The two teams meet for Game Two in Garden City on Thursday Night 8/4/2022. The winner of this series will advance to face the winner of the Alpine Cowboys/Trinidad Triggers Series. Alpine won 10-7 and took a 1-0 lead.
