12/13/2021-The Pecos League announced the new Austin Baseball Team will be named the "Austin Weirdos". The teams home games will be played in Parque Zaragoza on Friday, Saturday and Sunday Nights in June and July.

Colors for the Weirdos will be Loyalty Blue, Liberty White and Courage Red that will match the Texas Flag. The team will don a version of tie dye uniforms including hats and jerseys. The Weirdos will wear a navy hat with a tie dye bill. The Weirdos will have a Navy Jersey, a Red Jersey and a Tie Die Jersey. 2022 will be the inaugural season for the Weirdos.

The Weirdos will join the Pecos Leagues Mountain Division along with the Roswell Invaders, Alpine Cowboys, Weimar Hormigas, Trinidad Triggers, Santa Fe Fuego, Colorado Springs Snow Sox, and Garden City (Kansas) Wind. The team will play a 50 game regular season schedule from June 2 to July 31. Pecos League Playoffs begin at the end of the regular season.

The Weirdos will finalize their coaching and game day staff in early 2022.

The Pecos League is an independent baseball league which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Southern Arizona, Kansas, West Texas and Colorado. Pecos Teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either. The Pecos League has two divisions which stretch from the plains of Kansas to the Oceans of California to the Mexican Border of Texas.
