3/12/2020-A new era in San Rafael Pacifics History commenced today with the annoucement of the San Rafael Pacifics joining the Pecos League for the 2020 season. The Pecos League has bought the San Rafael Pacifics and they will be joining the Pacific Division of the Pecos League and playing in the 2020 season and beyond. The Pacifics will maintain their office at 1201 2nd St. in San Rafael.

The Pacifics will join the Pacific Division of the Pecos League which is the largest league in Indepdendent Baseball. The Pacifics will play a 64 game schedule with 32 home games at Albert Park and be in a division with the (Martinez Sturgeon, Pittsburg Anchors, Monterey Amberjacks, Wasco Reserve and Bakersfield Train Robbers) The Pecos League has two divisions one in California and in the Mountain Time Zone including (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and Texas) The winners from each division play a championship series in the 2nd week of August. More than 386 players have begun their professional career in the Pecos League and have moved to higher level independent leagues. 39 players have signed MILB Affliated Contracts and 3 players have reached Major League Baseball.

The Pacifics franchise was launched by Centerfield Partners LLC of Dublin, California. In 2012 the San Rafael Pacifics were founded playing in the North American League were they were the Champions of the League. The Pacifics were founding members of the Pacific Association and played in the Pacific Association from 2013-2019 winning championships in 2014,2015,2018 and 2019

The major difference between the Pecos League and Pacific Association is the Pecos League has roster rules which leads to the majority of the Players between 24 or younger. Pecos League Roster Rules for the 2020 Season- Teams will carry 22 man active roster. Each player will be defined as a rookie or experienced on the teams roster. All players must be born or after January 1, 1994 with the exception of three veterans. Teams can have no than 11 players that are experienced. The other 11 players must be classified as rookies.
