June 3 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 7-3 at Adelanto Stadium. High Desert finished with nine hits and no errors, while Monterey collected seven hits and committed one error.
High Desert took control with two runs in the second inning and added single runs in the third fifth and sixth before scoring twice in the seventh. Daniel Gardner went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Slayton Vaughan and Hector Morales each drove in two runs, while Aiden Brook had two hits and one RBI. Dillon Fahr and D.J. Reddy each scored twice, with Reddy adding two doubles and a stolen base.
Monterey scored twice in the fourth and once in the fifth. Nathaniel Thompson went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, and James Prockish tripled. Steven Longo added a hit and one RBI, while B. Giland and Seth Strong each scored once.
Andrew Mclaughlin earned the win for High Desert after allowing six hits and three earned runs in five innings. He walked five and struck out eight. Ty Tracy took the loss for Monterey after allowing seven hits and four earned runs in five innings with four strikeouts.
