June 2 2019 The Bakersfield Train Robbers overcame an early deficit to defeat Wasco Reserve 11-7. Bakersfield finished with 14 hits and scored in five innings, while Wasco collected five hits and committed one error.
Wasco struck for six runs in the second inning to take a 6-3 lead, but Bakersfield answered with two runs in the third and two more in the fifth to move ahead 7-6. The Train Robbers added two runs in the sixth and two in the eighth to secure the victory.
Luis Alvarado led Bakersfield by going 4-for-5 with four runs and two RBI. He hit a home run and a double. T. Davis also homered and finished 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI, while Jarrett Anton went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Marcos Figueroa reached base three times with three walks and scored twice.
Emmanuel Velasquez earned the win after allowing six runs on five hits in five innings with five walks and four strikeouts. Deuris Severino followed with three hitless innings, allowing one run while striking out eight, and Matt Wheeler worked a scoreless ninth. Wasco starter Arton Rank allowed five runs on seven hits in four innings, and Layton Laird was charged with the loss.
