Capitals in the sights for Dany Paradis-Giroux. Dany Paradis-Giroux is one of three local Quebec players that got the opportunity to join the Hollywood Stars for their CanAM League series when they replaced the Dominican Republic.
A native of Temiscouata-sur-le-Lac in the Lower St. Lawrence, Paradis-Giroux moved to the south shore of Quebec City as a teenager to take advantage of the sports-studies program at Pointe-Lvy school. He then played for the Quebec Jr Capitals (Diamonds) and the Charlesbourg Beavers (Alouettes) in the Quebec Elite Junior Baseball League. Then, south of the border, with Northeastern College Oklahoma - where he ran alongside third-baseman Brad Alchak - and with William Woods University, Missouri. He has just graduated, which allows him to align with professionals.
Since the beginning of the season, he is part of the Braves Batitech Temiscouata of the Senior League of Bas-Saint-Laurent, but caresses higher goals. "Yes, I hope to play [at the pros]. I will enjoy every moment with the Hollywood Stars and after we will see what awaits me. But I would like to come and play for the Capitals, even though I may still be far from this happening.
Giroux made his debut for the Stars out of the bullpen on 6/26/2018 where he drilled Quebec City Star Kalian Sams with a fastball before a slient crowd.
Kalian Sams looks at Dany Paradis-Giroux badly, walks quietly to the mound from the marble floor. As if he was about to hit the pitcher in front of him. On her first professional start, Paradis-Giroux has just reached the Capital fielder with a shot. Sams believes that this is a replica accidental contact between him and the star of the Hollywood Stars on a game at home in the first round. Hence his anger. Hence its bad looks. And lets clarify one thing before going further. Sams is a real giant. Officially, 63 and 235 pounds. Muscles. And even if the Dutchman is very friendly, his bicep turn alone is enough to intimidate. The day after the short "confrontation", passed almost unnoticed, Paradis-Giroux admitted to having spun soft for a few seconds. "He looked at me with big eyes. I was scared! I was ready to run into the field-center! "Laughed the Quebecer, whose size is similar to that of Sams ... but the frame a little less. The two men spoke Wednesday about the incident occurred Tuesday night. Sams then realized that the man at the mound was a young Quebecer invited by the Stars, the last to want to cause an incident. "I went to see him during the practice at bat. We talked to each other, we made that clear. He was not sorry for anything, "said Paradis-Giroux.Even if the moment has shaken him, he is not ready to point it out as the source of his troubles in his second round of work on Tuesday. After a solid first run, things were a little spoiled for the right after he reached Sams. "Its baseball. Its part of the game. Subsequently, I just focused on the next hitter, "he said. He completed his 1.2 game night with three hits and two earned runs, but also two strikeouts.
