Trinidad Triggers Defeat Alpine Cowboys 9-2

June 17 2018 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Alpine Cowboys 9-2 at Central Park, scoring in five different innings and finishing with a 13-8 advantage in hits. Alpine opened the game with two runs in the top of the first, but Trinidad answered with four runs in the bottom half and never relinquished the lead.

Danny Molinari powered the Triggers offense by going 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs and four RBI. Tim Henry added three hits, one run and one RBI, while Justin Busekrus had two hits and scored once. Bronson Butcher and Charles Osborne also drove in runs for Trinidad.

Trinidad added one run in the third, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. Joseph Broderick earned the win after allowing seven hits and two runs, one earned, over seven innings with seven strikeouts and three walks. Joba Ferrell worked two scoreless innings in relief. Alpine starter Cam Carney took the loss after surrendering seven runs, six earned, on 10 hits in five innings.
