Grapes Edge Pacifics 4-3

June 9 2012 The Sonoma County Grapes defeated the San Rafael Pacifics 4-3 in a closely contested game. Sonoma County finished with five hits while San Rafael collected six, but the Grapes converted their scoring opportunities to secure the win.

Sonoma County scored twice in the second inning, added a run in the fourth and produced the decisive fourth run in the seventh. San Rafael answered with one run in the fourth and two in the fifth. Bunyu Maeda drove in two runs for the Grapes, while Darrick Hale and Henry Calderon each recorded an RBI for the Pacifics. Calderon also hit San Rafael's only home run of the game. Chris Debiasi scored twice for the Grapes and reached base three times with one hit and two walks.

Matthew Gibbs earned the win for Sonoma County after allowing five hits and three runs over seven innings, with two earned runs, one walk and eight strikeouts. Jeff Lyons and Robert Savarese combined for a scoreless eighth inning before Marquis Pettis worked the ninth for the save. San Rafael starter M. Hebert struck out 11 while allowing one hit and three unearned runs over 5.1 innings. Julian Arballo took the loss after allowing one earned run in 1.2 innings.
