July 27 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds defeated the Wasco Reserve 15-3 at Wasco Recreation Ballpark, scoring in five of the first three innings before pulling away late. High Desert led 7-3 after the third inning, then added four runs in the eighth and four more in the ninth to complete the victory.
Danny Kerr delivered the biggest offensive performance for High Desert, going 1-for-3 with a home run and seven RBI. Oscar Larranaga went 4-for-5, Slayton Vaughan was 2-for-4 with four runs scored and one RBI, and Hector Morales added two hits and an RBI. High Desert finished with 12 hits, while Joey Macaluso reached base three times on walks and scored three runs.
John Schulz earned the win after allowing six hits and three runs, two earned, in seven innings. He walked three and struck out four. Cole Langdon and Nico Mayoral each pitched a scoreless inning in relief, combining for four strikeouts. Ken Williams took the loss for Wasco after surrendering six runs on four hits and six walks in two innings.
Wasco collected six hits, including two from Tyler Dupree, but was held scoreless after the third inning. The Reserve committed two errors, while High Desert made one.
