July 26 2019 The Bakersfield Train Robbers rallied for a 7-5 victory over Wasco Reserve after overcoming an early four-run deficit. Wasco scored four times in the first inning and led 4-3 after one, but Bakersfield answered with four runs in the sixth to take a 7-4 advantage. Wasco added one run in the ninth, but Bakersfield held on.
Nyles Nygaard led Bakersfield with three hits in four at-bats and two RBI. Noah McGowan also collected three hits, while Darian Fleming and Tyler Baumann each had a hit and scored a run. Bakersfield finished with 10 hits, with Nygaard, Reinaldo Valdez, Noah McGowan, and Baumann contributing to the five-run effort with RBI.
Garrett Alvarez earned the win for Bakersfield after allowing six hits and four runs over seven innings. He struck out nine and walked two. Matt Wheeler worked a scoreless eighth, and Fleming recorded the save despite allowing one run in the ninth.
Ethan Skowronski paced Wasco with two hits and two RBI, including two doubles. Tyler Dupree also had two hits, while Austin Hoffman drove in a run. Wasco totaled six hits but committed three errors, compared with one error for Bakersfield. Chris Reyes took the loss after allowing four runs on four hits in one inning.
