Garden City Wind Pull Away From Trinidad Triggers 9-2

July 24 2019 The Garden City Wind defeated the Trinidad Triggers 9-2 in a seven-inning game, overcoming an early 1-1 tie with four runs in the fourth inning, three in the fifth and two in the sixth. Garden City finished with 12 hits and committed no errors, while Trinidad collected nine hits and made one error. Hunter Villanueva led the Wind offense by going 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI and two runs scored. Shane Brown added two hits, two runs and an RBI, while Ryan Kemp drove in a run and scored once. Zack Kammerman contributed a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Garden City’s other extra-base hits were doubles by Villanueva, Kemp and Kammerman. Kammerman earned the win after allowing two runs on nine hits over seven innings. He walked none and struck out two, throwing 65 of 98 pitches for strikes. Nicholas Dorcean took the loss for Trinidad after allowing four runs on six hits in four innings with three walks and three strikeouts. Trinidad scored once in the third and once in the sixth. Nick Stoll went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Abel Arocho hit a home run while going 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Alejandro Diaz also collected two hits and stole a base for the Triggers.
